CAFE AALTO, HELSINKI

Lovely Mette from  http://metscan.blogspot.com/  issued an invite to us all to meet up at Cafe Aalto, in Helsinki. She requested that we detail what outfit we'd wear so here's a photo of my usual get-up when I slink off for a sly afternoon cocktail. Not very exciting, I know, but it's what I feel comfortable in. Well, it was either this or pyjamas. I'll probably be buried in a jacket and jeans (but not anytime soon, hopefully).
MY THRILLING ENSEMBLE
As you can see, I've brought my Emergency Gin Money  Rainy Day Fund Purse with me, so that I can still order cocktails when my credit card has shattered into a million pieces. I'm wearing my new Sulky necklace as well for identification purposes, just in case I forget my passport (wouldn't be the first time!).

And look - There's a little stowaway on the plane!

My little Doll-face pup wants to come as well, so that
he can discuss the Euro zone crisis and tussle over a bone with Mette's dog, Morty. He has insisted on a grooming session and wearing his rainproof jacket, so here it is:

And we're off!

MEOW!

  1. Nice outfit Sulky, and I look forward to enjoying a cocktail or two with you. Oh that purse is too cute! Do you think the dogs will help us get home - I hope they'll all get on! xxx

    1. I'm not very adventurous with clothes. My friend's dad always used to call me 'Guinness', because with my blonde hair and constant wearing of black,he said I resembled a pint of Guinness. Charming! Don't worry, my pup has in-built GPS - he always leads me back to his food bowl!

  2. I'm loving this game, I thought you were all actually going for a few scrunched eyebrow minutes.
Oh and that purse is perfect it's always a rainy day ergo gin supping day here.

    1. Ha! I had to cancel an interview with Angelina Jolie, but it'll be worth it! In fact, I'll do it over the phone when I've had a few drinks...like she's important!!

  3. I actually only wear jeans, unless it's a dressy event - one or two times a year. I'm completely serious, nothing else. Own a variety of black blazers as well. A few navy jackets too. Also wear the same wash on jeans that you have in photo - not a fan of the dark rinse. Switch up the bags and shoes between black, dark brown, and tan. Talk about boring.......

    1. We are twins! The thing for me is feeling comfortable and I just love jeans more than anything else, always have. At least you liven things up where it counts,in the bedroom, with all that kinky hardware David keeps buying you! Other women count themselves lucky if they get their own dimmer switch to play with!

    2. This is such a relief to hear. Here I was thanking God that my fashion goddess Hillary will be in Helsinki so I won't be the only one dressed like her but if Sulky and Kathy are wearing jeans I am too. Triplets!

    3. Too right, Susan - triplets it is! If the weather had been worse, I would have been booted up as well!

  4. I love your outfit! That scarf is lovely and don't get me started on the necklace :) I am a big fan of black and comfort - but it still needs to be stylish and smart-looking - your ensemble is perfect. Raffles is so adorable!! (It is Raffles? I hope my memory is correct) All that hair must be a challenge to keep tangle-free. He's a very stylish pup. Have you seen the new Bret Michaels 'Pets Rock' line at PetSmart yet? He has a good PR team.

    1. Well, you can imagine what the hair situation is like in this house if the owner looks like the dog! I have just looked at the Bret Michaels stuff that he created "out of his own head"!. It looks wild, I will go to Petsmart when I am in Florida in December.

  5. I love your outfit! I could easily see myself in something like that. I'm a denim girl myself. Give me a comfortable (must be slightly cool-looking) pair of jeans and a jacket (denim or (can only afford fake) leather), and I'm a happy camper. And not just pants; shorts and short pants are almost always denim. I'm (neurotic) picky like that. I must have the most boring wardrobe on earth, but - meh - who cares...I'm happy with it.

I would love to meet at Cafe Aalto, in Helsinki. Wouldn't that be a hoot if we all got together?

    1. I have loads of jeans, and yet I can always find room for another pair! I just like to keep things simple and not fussy. I tried to break out of my black/denim/navy circle by buying a really cute pink cardi but it just hangs forlornly in my wardrobe. I give it an occasional sympathetic stroke and tell it "your time will come". I need Wendy to make me a new necklace with LIAR on it!

  9. Always thought of you as a biker girl??,see you next to the champers bottles, depending if I get there first....like the stripe through the jacket touch of the 30's nonchalance.

    1. Claire, if I ever throw a blog-party you will be one of the first people I'd force to come along! Why the hell, don't you and Kathy Peck have blogs? You can squeeze in beside me and the Doll-face on the plane. You really would love him, he's the most loving, adorable little scamp I've ever met! Now, move over, and don't get between me and the drinks trolley!

  14. You look and your " look " is just what I expected from you. Down with the boundaries. You were the only one prepared for the sudden shower of rain, we got at the park, and your darling pup managed to stay tip-top after all the grooming.
Having had a second glance at the necklace, should I order one too- MORTY on it?
How can I order one from Wendy?
